I started an Etsy store because I love to create. When I was a young girl I used to spend the summers at my grandma and grandpa's house. To keep me occupied, at the beginning of the summer they would buy a HUGE roll of plain white paper, some glue, and a new pair of scissors. Throughout the course of that summer I would create anything and everything. One summer, my greatest achievement was an outfit made entirely out of paper - skirt, shirt and hat - and I put it on (grandma helped me glue it over the clothes I already had on - and I would roller skate up and down West Street in my creation.
I see my Etsy store and an extension of this childhood creativity. My grandmother (with some help from my mom) taught me how to use a sewing machine, and I was hooked. Some kids, after they learn to use a sewing machine, have an insane desire to create fashionable clothing - my insane desire was to create craft-y projects with my sewing machine. Thus, my Etsy store was born. I love taking bolts of raw fabric in a variety of colors and turning it into something totally unique (and functional!)
